Obituary of Bettina Plattner

Bettina Plattner, wife of the late Samuel (Sam) David Plattner and mother of the late Bruce Plattner is survived by her children Morey and Rina Plattner, granddaughter Hannah Plattner, and brother,  Henry (Hank, Zwi) Zauderer (California).

She also is survived by her beloved sister-in-laws Ann Gugenheim and Shanee Zauderer, brother-in-law Arthur Schwartz, and nieces and nephews Victor, Marvin and Ilana Zauderer; Lisa and Cindy Schwartz, Robyn Sperling, Lee, Michael, and Steve Gugenheim, Susan Vicksman, Marc Birnbaum and Sheera Gumbiner. She also is survived by cousin Shulamit Werner, and 2nd cousin, Hedva Wolf (Israel).

Bettina Plattner was born in Vienna, Austria on January 19, 1936 to Morris Zauderer and Bronia Fischer. At the age of 3, her parents and brother, fled the war and made a life for themselves in Jerusalem, Israel. When Bettina was a teen, the family left Israel and emigrated to the United States, first to Brooklyn, NY and later to Denver, CO. Bettina graduated high school from East High School and attended University of Colorado, Boulder (CU), and Denver University (DU). Bettina met her husband, Samuel (Sam) David Plattner and raised 3 children in Denver.

Bettina was a Hebrew School teacher for multiple religious and Hebrew Day schools in Denver and also worked as a Law Secretary. Her passions were baking, sewing, playing the piano, listening to classical and Israeli music, praying at Rodef Shalom Synagogue, speaking on the phone with her brother, Zwi, who she was extremely close to, and being the world's most devoted, tireless, and selfless mom. But, by far, Bettina's biggest pride and joy was serving as a grandma for her only grandchild, Hannah, the light of her life.

A graveside service will be held at Mt. Nebo Cemetery on Tuesday March 12 at 2pm. The service will be livestreamed at Feldman Mortuary's YouTube Channel.

Donations in Bettina's name may be made to Rodef Shalom Synagogue or the Alzheimer's Foundation.
