Obituary of Dr. Robert E. Gold

Dr. Robert E. Gold;

Robert was born May 7, 1938 in Chicago, IL, to Alex and Gertrude Gold. Husband of Marsha Gold. Father of Eric, David, and Brian Gold; loving grandfather and great-grandfather.

Robert had a passion for flying and became a Civil Air Patrol Cadet and an avid ham radio hobbyist at 13 years old. By 16, he earned his Private Pilot License.  He spent his summers in Colorado learning to camp, horseback ride and shoot;  falling in love with the state in the process.  He attended MIT, then graduated with a Doctorate in Medicine from Northwestern University at age 26.

In 1964 Robert entered the Air Force, where he achieved the rank of major, became a fighter pilot, physician, and a researcher. He served in Vietnam as both a doctor and pilot, and was awarded a bronze star for his bravery. He was honorably discharged and moved to Colorado where he completed his medical residency in anesthesiology through the University of Colorado.

Robert worked as an anesthesiologist in Denver for 15 years. In 1988 Bob and Marsha made Aliyah to Israel, where he worked in telecommunications for the Israeli government, before serving in the Israeli police force’s ballistics department.

Robert returned to Denver in 1990 where he worked in Industrial Medicine, served as CEO of Sky Fighters Inc,  and as a volunteer Aurora Police Officer.

Robert was happiest when flying, and even learned to pilot a helicopter while volunteering with the Colorado Army National Guard...

A funeral service in honor of Robert will be held Friday, February 23, 2024, at 10:30am at Temple Sinai. Livestream will be available on Temple Sinai’s Website. Interment to follow at Mount Nebo Cemetery. Livestream will be available on Feldman Mortuary’s YouTube channel.

The family of Robert will be sitting Shiva at the home of David and Anastasya Gold, 2636 Danbury Ave. Highlands Ranch, CO 80126 on the following days:

Saturday, 2/24 from 6:00-8:30pm with Minyan at 6:30pm

Sunday, 2/25 from 2:00-5:00pm with Minyan at 4:00pm

Shiva will be held at the home of Eric and Natalya Gold,  22018 E. Costilla Dr. Aurora, CO 80016 on Monday, 02/26 from 12:00-2:00pm with no Minyan.
